Noche UFC’s Regina Tarin open to WWE move in the future or doing ‘both at the same time’

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Tarin recounted the unusual sequence of events that led to her simultaneous consideration by both global giants. "They reached out to me directly on Instagram and told me about going to the WWE tryouts," Tarin explained. "And I said, ‘Okay, let’s go.’ That’s how they contacted me. I showed up, I made it into WWE, but three days later I got a call from UFC, so, well, passion comes first." This swift turn of events highlights the high demand for athletic talent and Tarin’s immediate appeal to both sports.

The formation of TKO Group Holdings in late 2023, merging the UFC and WWE under a single corporate entity, has significantly altered the landscape for athletes like Tarin. This strategic consolidation creates an unprecedented pathway for crossover athletes, potentially allowing them to pursue opportunities in both disciplines. Such a possibility resonates with Tarin, who possesses a substantial public profile, boasting over 500,000 followers on Instagram, a considerable asset for marketability in both MMA and professional wrestling.

Despite the immediate pull of professional wrestling, Tarin remains steadfast in her current priorities. "Of course, I’d consider doing it later, maybe alongside MMA, or even at the same time, I don’t know," she stated. "But right now my priority is MMA, my priority is UFC, my priority is winning fights and maybe in the future we’ll see it happen." Her focus remains squarely on building her career within the UFC, aiming to climb the flyweight ranks.

"This time I had a full training camp," Tarin explained. "I had the opportunity to study my opponent, and making weight is going to be much easier this time than it was last time because I won’t have to cut as much. But I think the hunger and the desire are going to be exactly the same." The ability to undergo a full camp allows for specific strategy development and optimal physical conditioning, crucial factors in high-level MMA.

Tarin emphasized that her core competitive spirit remains unchanged, but her approach will be refined. "The mentality is the same. The same Regina who stepped into the cage last time, with that hunger and that desire, is the same Regina stepping in this time," she asserted. "I think now you’re going to see a prepared Regina – a Regina with a strategy, a game plan, and everything already in place for this war. So yes, I think I can put on a better performance, and that’s the plan. That’s exactly the plan." This statement indicates a fighter who learns and adapts, aiming to showcase her evolution in the cage.

Her extensive amateur MMA background, preceding her professional debut in 2023, is a crucial factor Tarin believes narrows the experience gap between herself and her more seasoned opponent, JJ Aldrich. I have the desire to move forward and show what kind of fighter I am."
