NASCAR Officials Eject Five Key Team Members Following Pre-Race Inspection Violations at Bristol

Bristol, TN – Five NASCAR Cup Series team members were ejected from Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday after their respective cars failed pre-race inspection multiple times. The stringent penalties, aimed at ensuring fair competition and adherence to technical regulations, saw four car chiefs and one engineer removed from competition for the remainder of the race weekend.

The penalized individuals were associated with the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet driven by Ross Chastain, the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Kyle Larson, the No. 41 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet piloted by Cole Custer, the No. 66 Garage 66 Ford of Chad Finchum, and the No. 71 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet driven by Michael McDowell. Each of these entries failed the initial inspection process twice, triggering automatic ejections for a key crew member.

In addition to the personnel removals, all five teams were stripped of their pit stall selections. They will be assigned the last five available pit stalls after the rest of the field has made their choices, regardless of their qualifying positions. Fortunately for the teams involved, all five cars successfully passed inspection on their third attempt, allowing them to compete in the race and avoiding any in-race penalties.
