The remarkable achievement came in his debut appearance at the event, held under the challenging conditions of the Florida night at Five Flags Speedway.
The race, a curtain-raiser to the renowned Snowball Derby, commenced under the floodlights well past midnight, with the green flag dropping at approximately 1:30 AM local time. Pole sitter Luke Baldwin led the initial charge, but the narrative of the night would soon belong to the youngest competitor on the grid. Harvick, the son of 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick, started a modest 15th, a position that belied his eventual dominance.
From the outset, Harvick demonstrated a maturity and racecraft far beyond his years. He methodically navigated the challenging 25-car field, steadily gaining positions lap after lap. By lap 40, he had already broken into the top five, signaling his serious intent to contend for the win. The early stages of the race saw Kaden Honeycutt, the reigning Snowball Derby champion, establish a commanding presence at the front of the pack. Honeycutt maintained control through the significant midway race break at lap 75, appearing poised to add another major victory to his burgeoning resume.
However, the complexion of the race shifted dramatically in the latter stages. Following the break, Harvick executed a bold outside pass on Honeycutt to seize the lead. The lead, however, proved to be temporary. On the subsequent restart, a minor miscalculation saw Harvick briefly relinquish his advantage, dropping to fourth. In a post-race interview, Harvick attributed the setback to an accidental shift into second gear, which momentarily bogged down his No. 62 machine. This brief lapse did little to dampen his resolve. He quickly recovered, regaining lost momentum and rejoining the battle for the lead.

With only 25 laps remaining, the focus intensified on the duel for supremacy. Tristan McKee, a 15-year-old driver who had already captured an ARCA race in his debut earlier in the year, had ascended to the lead. It was then that Harvick made his decisive move. He dove to the inside of McKee, executing a clean pass to reclaim the lead. This time, Harvick held firm. He weathered a tense late-race restart, demonstrating composure under pressure, and ultimately crossed the finish line as the checkered flag waved, capturing the victory around 4:30 AM on Sunday morning.
"It’s really cool," a jubilant Keelan Harvick told Flo Racing following his historic triumph. "They brought me a really fast car. Not much practice. We didn’t come down here and test. I had school, but we came down here and made it work." His comments underscored the logistical challenges and dedication required to compete at this level, even for a young prodigy.
Reflecting on the significance of his victory, Harvick articulated a desire for respect within the highly competitive motorsport community. "It’s just big on earning respect from all of the veterans that are in the field," he stated. "There’s a lot of them that come to that race. Pretty much all of them. It’s just really cool that I get to earn their respect, racing clean, actually passing and not just running over people." A unique moment of father-son interaction occurred during the halfway break. NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick, present to support his son, passed a handwritten note to Keelan in his car. When asked about the contents of the message, Keelan responded with a characteristic grin, admitting to a touch of humor. "I’m honestly not sure," he said. "His handwriting is pretty bad and all the ink just smeared together. I think it was something about partial throttle, but his handwriting is not that good so I’m not sure." The Snowflake 125 podium was rounded out by a strong performance from Tristan McKee, who finished second. Kaden Honeycutt secured third place, validating his strong run throughout the event. Isaac Kitzmiller finished fourth, followed by Luke Baldwin in fifth, completing the top five finishers. The remainder of the top ten included Luke Yarborough, Jimmy Renfrew Jr., Gabe Brown, Evan Szotko, and Conner Jones, showcasing the depth of talent that competed in the event.
