NASCAR’s Diecast Dominance: Trackhouse and JR Motorsports Lead the Charge in 2025 Sales

Lionel Racing has unveiled its highly anticipated list of the top ten best-selling NASCAR diecast cars for the 2025 season, offering a compelling snapshot of fan engagement and driver popularity. The countdown, released throughout Wednesday, highlights a dynamic mix of established stars, rising talents, and significant moments that resonated deeply with the sport’s dedicated fanbase.

The trend of fan favorites and iconic schemes continuing to drive diecast sales was evident once again. In 2024, Dale Earnhardt Jr., despite his retirement from full-time Cup Series competition, demonstrated his enduring appeal by having his Budweiser-backed Late Model car outsell all other diecasts. This followed a strong showing in 2023, where Kevin Harvick’s retro No. 29 Busch Light Ford Mustang, a recreation of his 2001 scheme, captured the top spot. The previous year, 2022, saw a more unconventional winner in Ross Chastain’s "Hail Melon" car from Martinsville, complete with its signature right-side damage, while 2021 was dominated by Kevin Harvick’s eye-catching No. 4 Grave Digger paint scheme.

Looking further back, Chase Elliott, consistently recognized as the NASCAR Cup Series’ Most Popular Driver, has a storied history of topping diecast sales. His championship-winning No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet led the pack in 2020, and his cars also dominated the charts in 2019, 2018, and 2016. The 2017 list was topped by a nostalgic throwback scheme driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in his final Cup Series start, further emphasizing the lasting impact of legendary figures and significant career milestones. The dominance of Earnhardt-affiliated cars extended to earlier years as well, with various Earnhardt models frequently leading sales in 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012.

This year’s list, however, introduces some exciting new narratives and reaffirms the continued draw of established figures.

2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Budweiser Speedway Classic Chevrolet Late Model

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s enduring legacy continues to captivate fans, as evidenced by the strong sales of his Budweiser Speedway Classic Chevrolet Late Model.
