Antonio Brown Extradited to U.S. on Attempted Murder Charge Following Alleged Influencer Event Shooting

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been extradited to the United States from Dubai, arriving back in Miami to face a second-degree attempted murder charge with a deadly weapon. Police eventually located and interviewed Nantambu, who corroborated the details of the altercation with Brown. Nantambu confirmed that the former NFL wide receiver fired two shots at him, one of which he believed may have grazed his neck. He further recounted a struggle for the weapon, during which the gun ultimately fell to the ground. Following this, Nantambu stated he left the scene to seek medical attention at a local hospital for his injuries. Nantambu also informed police that he had known Brown since 2022 and positively identified a photograph of Brown as his assailant from the night of the shooting.

Based on the cumulative evidence, including witness statements, surveillance footage, and the victim’s account, police secured a warrant for Brown’s arrest. While Brown has publicly asserted that his actions were in self-defense during an attack, the charges brought against him suggest a different legal interpretation of the events.

Brown’s transfer back to the U.S. was facilitated by the U.S. Marshals Service, who escorted him before handing him over to local authorities. Plans are underway to transport him to Miami, the jurisdiction where the original arrest warrant was issued in June.
