The Atlanta Hawks recently concluded an impressive 11-game winning streak on Friday night, but the momentum across the league remains high. Two of the NBA’s longest current streaks are on display Saturday, March 21, 2026. The Oklahoma City Thunder, having secured 10 consecutive victories, are scheduled to face the struggling Washington Wizards on the road at 5 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers, boasting an eight-game winning run, will undertake a more challenging road test against the Southeast Division-leading Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. ET.
The NHL’s Eastern Conference presents a contrasting narrative of intense competition and inconsistency. Only two teams across the entire league have managed to string together more than two consecutive wins. The playoff picture in the East is particularly congested, with nine teams exceeding 80 points. Two of these teams are tied at 83 points, and four others are deadlocked at 84 points. The Carolina Hurricanes currently lead the conference with 94 points, followed by the Buffalo Sabres with 92, and the Tampa Bay Lightning with 88. Notably, Carolina is the only one of these nine high-ranking teams not in action on Saturday, setting the stage for several crucial head-to-head matchups among the contenders.

The Magic enter Saturday’s contest in a challenging period, having lost their last three games after a seven-game winning streak. Their roster is further depleted by the absence of key players, including star forward Franz Wagner and guard Anthony Black, placing a significant burden on players such as Paolo Banchero, who leads the team with an average of 22.3 points per game.
In terms of betting, the Lakers are listed as a 3.5-point road favorite against the Magic. Later in the evening, a Western Conference clash features the Milwaukee Bucks visiting the Phoenix Suns at 10 p.m. ET. The Bucks arrive in Phoenix facing significant challenges, with two of their top scorers potentially sidelined. Giannis Antetokounmpo is confirmed out due to a knee issue, and Kevin Porter is listed as questionable with a similar ailment. Milwaukee’s recent performance has been concerning, with 10 losses in their last 12 games, placing them 7.5 games out of the play-in zone and effectively playing out the remainder of their season.
The Phoenix Suns, currently seventh in the Western Conference, are also looking to regain form, having lost four consecutive games after winning six of their preceding seven. This matchup presents a crucial opportunity for the Suns to reverse their fortunes. Phoenix will be seeking to bounce back from a narrow 101-100 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, a game decided by a last-second jumper from Victor Wembanyama. Despite the loss, Collin Gillespie delivered one of his best performances of the season for the Suns, contributing 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc.
SportsLine’s model predicts the Suns to win 61% of their simulations for this game. However, it assigns "B" grades across various betting lines, indicating more nuanced value. The model notably favors the Bucks to cover the +11.5 spread in 66% of simulations and also sees value in the "Under 219.5" total points, as well as a moneyline bet on the Bucks at +440.
NHL Focus: Islanders at Canadiens, Bruins at Red Wings
The NHL’s Eastern Conference logjam will be on full display with two significant matchups. The New York Islanders (83 points) will travel to Montreal to face the Canadiens (84 points) at 7 p.m. ET. Both teams are deeply entrenched in the intense playoff race. The Islanders have proven to be a formidable road team this season, securing 45 of their 83 points away from home. While they hold an 8-4 record in their last 12 games, their recent form includes a 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. The Montreal Canadiens, by contrast, have performed better on the road than at home this season. They have lost three of their last four games and four of their last five meetings against the Islanders. Their defense has been less consistent, giving up an average of 3.24 goals per game, tied for the eighth-most in the league. This marks the second encounter between these teams this season; the Islanders previously rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Montreal 4-3 in overtime on February 26. Despite their recent struggles against New York, the Canadiens are favored in Saturday’s contest. SportsLine’s model projects Montreal to win in 58% of its simulations.
An "Original Six" rivalry takes center stage as the Boston Bruins visit the Detroit Red Wings at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast on ABC. Both teams are locked at 84 points, currently holding the two wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference and sitting four points behind the third-place Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division. Their previous meeting in January resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Bruins on their home ice.
The Red Wings will be hosting the game at Little Caesars Arena, where they have maintained a strong home record of 20-11-3. Despite the absence of star player Dylan Larkin, Detroit has won their last two games, including a crucial 3-1 division victory against the Canadiens on Thursday. The Bruins, however, have a less impressive road record this season, standing at 12-14-7. They have won two of their last three games, including a recent victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. Historically, Boston has found success against Detroit, winning five of their last seven matchups. SportsLine’s model indicates a 48% chance of a Bruins victory, suggesting potential value for bettors considering Boston as plus-money underdogs at +105.
