Beard Motorsports has officially announced its intention to compete in the 68th running of the Daytona 500, slated for next month, with Anthony Alfredo behind the wheel of the No. 62 Chevrolet. The popular automotive lifestyle brand DUDE Wipes will serve as the primary sponsor for the team’s ambitious attempt at "The Great American Race."
This marks a significant return for the Beard Motorsports and Alfredo pairing at Daytona International Speedway. While Alfredo was unable to qualify for the prestigious event last year, the same combination successfully made the field in 2024. In that appearance, Alfredo started 39th and ultimately finished 27th, demonstrating their capability on the superspeedway.
"There is nothing like being in Daytona Beach in February for the Daytona 500," stated Beard-Deja, executive vice president of Beard Motorsports. "Our family and everyone at Beard Motorsports take pride in our NASCAR program and being part of this community. And when we go to the track, whether it’s Daytona, Talladega or another track, we go with the intention of performing well and contending for wins."
Beard-Deja further emphasized the strategic importance of Alfredo’s inclusion, noting his dedication and skillset. "The work Anthony (Alfredo) puts into his craft and his skill in the superspeedway races align with the goals we have for our racing program," Beard-Deja added. "He and Darren (Shaw) have developed a great working relationship, so our expectations for Daytona are very high." This highlights the team’s confidence in the driver-crew chief synergy, a critical component for success in the high-pressure environment of superspeedway racing.
