INDIO, California – Unified strawweight champion Oscar Collazo is set to defend his WBO and WBA titles against Jayson Vayson in the main event of a championship boxing doubleheader at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Oscar "El Pupilo" Collazo (12-0, 9 KOs), a native of Villalba, Puerto Rico, has rapidly ascended the ranks of the strawweight division since turning professional in 2020. Collazo’s amateur background provided a solid foundation for his transition to the professional circuit. In only his seventh professional bout, he demonstrated his potential by defeating Melvin Jerusalem to claim the WBO title. This victory has gained further significance as Jerusalem subsequently captured the WBC title and has successfully defended it twice.
