The highly anticipated main event saw Justin "The Highlight" Gaethje claim the undisputed UFC lightweight title, a crowning achievement in a storied career marked by thrilling performances and an aggressive, fan-favorite fighting style. The victory came when Topuria’s corner threw in the towel, signaling a halt to the contest and marking a significant moment in the 155-pound division. But if you have Ilia Topuria, as a fight promoter, would you not want to think about putting him back in a championship setting, given how big UFC Freedom 250 was?" Anik remarked, highlighting the commercial success and viewership figures associated with Topuria’s major bouts. "I think there’s strong consideration there." He then proposed an intriguing alternative matchup for another segment of the division’s top talent. "For me, I think you do Paddy Pimblett vs. Charles Oliveira. If you want to sweeten the pot and put the BMF belt on the line, so be it." Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett, a highly popular and charismatic fighter from Liverpool, England, has garnered a massive fan following and has steadily climbed the lightweight ladder with a series of notable wins. Anik also speculated on Gaethje’s motivations, noting, "I sort of thought maybe Mom would be like, ‘Justin, this is a great note upon which to go out.’ But I don’t think it’s going to be up to Justin. I say that with all due respect. I think Justin is far more concerned with his show money than with who he’s actually fighting." Anik further speculated on the timing of Gaethje’s return and potential opponents. "If Arman Tsarukyan beats Mauricio Ruffy and is able to finish him, potentially, I think that fight could be made expeditiously." However, his primary focus returned to the potential rematch. "I don’t know what Ilia Topuria’s timeline is, but my non-informed speculation is that Gaethje vs. Topuria 2, a rematch, would be absolutely enormous, and I guess, predictively, that’s what I think is going to happen. At least right now, as we sit here in late August." Anik’s prediction underscores the promotional appeal of a rematch between two highly skilled and popular fighters who delivered a memorable first encounter.
