NASCAR has officially released its complete 2027 racing calendar, detailing the schedules for its premier Cup Series, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and the Craftsman Truck Series. The announcement follows a series of individual track confirmations throughout the preceding weeks, providing a definitive roadmap for the upcoming season across all three national divisions.
The NASCAR Cup Series schedule for 2027 features a familiar array of iconic venues, with no entirely new circuits being introduced. However, several key events have been strategically repositioned. The exhibition-style Clash will return to its historic home at Daytona International Speedway, marking a significant homecoming for the season-opening event. The highly anticipated NASCAR All-Star Race is slated to be held at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a venue that has seen a resurgence in popularity and will once again host this prestigious, non-points event.
In a notable shift, Dover International Speedway, a track with a rich history in the Cup Series, is set to regain a points-paying race on the 2027 calendar. The opening race of the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series Chase, the playoff system that determines the season’s champion, will commence at Richmond Raceway. Further adjustments to the playoff structure include Darlington Raceway’s Southern 500 being moved back to serve as the final regular-season race, preceding the playoff contention. New Hampshire Motor Speedway also secures its place within the playoff picture, rejoining the Chase for the championship.
The calendar also confirms a significant alteration for road course racing within the playoff format. Watkins Glen International, which experienced considerable pushback from competitors and fans alike when its date was shifted in 2026, has been strategically placed as the sole road course event within the 2027 Cup Series Chase. The street circuit race in San Diego, a relatively new addition to the Cup Series schedule, will return in 2027, though its placement has been adjusted to a slightly later point in the season. The Craftsman Truck Series also undergoes substantial changes to its 2027 schedule. Several venues that previously hosted Truck Series races, including Rockingham, San Diego, Watkins Glen, Dover, and Richmond, will not be on the calendar. The Craftsman Truck Series will also return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, marking its first appearance at the Canadian circuit since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Championship Weekend for all three NASCAR national divisions will once again be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The season finale is scheduled to take place from November 12th to 14th, 2027, providing a definitive conclusion to the championship battles across the Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Craftsman Truck Series.
The broadcast landscape for the 2027 NASCAR season will feature a multi-platform approach for the Cup Series. Races will be aired across FOX, Amazon’s Prime Video, TNT, and the USA Network/NBC. The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will have all its events broadcast by The CW. FOX will retain exclusive broadcast rights for the entire Craftsman Truck Series season. This diverse media package aims to maximize viewership and accessibility for fans across various platforms.
