Marina Storti appointed CEO of WTA Ventures

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has appointed Marina Storti as the CEO of WTA Ventures, the new commercial entity of the organization. The creation of WTA Ventures was announced earlier this year as part of the tour’s strategic partnership with CVC Capital Partners, aimed at bolstering the profile of women’s tennis and accelerating commercial growth for the sport’s stakeholders. Storti, who previously worked at Sky, brings over 20 years of experience in media and sports rights and will begin her role in August.

Storti expressed her excitement at joining WTA Ventures at a significant juncture for women’s tennis, which she sees as integral to the broader development of professional women’s sport. In her most recent role at Sky leading its NOW streaming platform, she delivered record profit growth and oversaw the business’s fundamental transformation. Storti’s experience in digital media and sport and her passion for the game have positioned her well to guide WTA Ventures during what Steve Simon, WTA Chairman and CEO, has described as the next innovative era for the organization.

As WTA Ventures’ CEO, Storti will also join its board of directors. The partnership between CVC Capital Partners and the WTA is a multi-year deal that focuses on accelerating the growth and evolution of women’s tennis. WTA Ventures will work in tandem with the WTA, its affiliated tournaments and players, to further elevate the sport’s profile and benefits for all stakeholders. The announcement of Storti’s appointment is a significant development that underscores the partners’ ambitions.
