NBA playoffs 2023 – LeBron James trolls Dillon Brooks, Memphis Grizzlies

LeBron James is basking in the Los Angeles Lakers’ Game 6 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA playoffs. The Lakers emerged victorious with a 4-2 win in the series and became the sixth No. 7 seed to upset their opponents in the opening game. Brooks, a Grizzlies’ player, had plenty to say after the team’s Game 2 victory, which led the series to become testy. Dillon Brooks had some words for LeBron, commenting that he doesn’t care that “he’s old” and that he doesn’t respect anyone unless they “come and give [him] 40.”

LeBron took Brooks’ comments personally and dropped 22 points and grabbed 20 boards in Game 4, marking the first 20-20 line of his career. In true King James fashion, he showcased an impressive performance again in the series closer by clinching a victory with a margin of exactly 40 points.

After the game, LeBron quoted Mystikal’s freestyle to describe the opening-round matchup and tweeted out lyrics from Jay-Z’s 2006 song “Trouble.” According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Brooks left the locker room before the media entered after Game 6. Although LeBron did not mention Brooks directly, it seems that his post-victory playlist is a fitting tribute to his victory over the taunting Grizzlies’ player.
